Chapter....2

We left Byron Bay on a sad Monday and we drove to Port Maquirie and stayed the night there. The next day we went to an animal sanctuary where we met the best most cutest kangaroo in the whole entire WORLD...he was very hungry/greedy and he loved the corn we had to feed him, and he grabbed our hands in his claw SO tightly! I couldn't have let go if I'd wanted to!

And then to Forster-Tuncurry and visited a beach called Seal Rocks which was recommended as being absolutely beautiful...it was, and we tried to surf but the sea was all flat...but it was nice to cool off in the clear blue water (with little orange bits in)

Nerd alert.

In Forster-Tuncurry we watched a patient spider build a beautiful web in the archway of our hostel. Alas...silly spider... it was a through-way. I went inside and then came out again to take just one more photo and some bumbling fools had stumbled through the web, and the poor spider was terrifiedly hanging from a thread...but I do not mean to depress you. I am sure he enjoys the web building, and there were lots of other places and a lot of bugs about, so I expect he did not go hungry that night. Maybe he could share this stick insect's dinner.

We got to Sydney and stayed at Manly...we looked at the Opera House and the Botanical Gardens, then went back to Manly and Tom had a surf and I ....meditated....
We were gonna stay in Sydney for xmas, but we didn't want to..bit of culture shock after the serenity of Byronshire! And we got very cross getting lost all the time in Sydney, as Tom doesn't believe in maps, and my brain is too sieve-like to remember to obtain one.
So...we decided we should go to Melbourne....
We drove for twelve hours straight only stopping to swap driving seat and to re-fuel. It was VERY hot in the car and my mobile phone buttons melted and so did it's voice. But my phone was free, it's trusty and it will never die! Thanks Lychee!
Anyway, the landscape was amazing...miles of brown grass littered with big black skeletal trees...hard to take pics cos lots of it was really flat...but wow look at it. It's awesome!

What is the meaning of this?

Occaisionally strange things remind me it's Christmas!

Okay so here's some pictures from our new hostel, once again they revolve around food...
and how disgusting you can be with it!
Oh the trials of a famous artist...
that pesky papparrazzi won't leave me alone!

They drink beer...

Tallows Beach

A glorious Sunday at Tallows Beach

Bangalow Show

On Saturday I went to the Bangalow Show in the nearby village of Bangalow... I saw some of the craziest fowl imaginable! This is just one of them...a prize winning large cock! There was also a giant goose, a MEAN looking rooster, and chickens the shape, colour and texture of marshmallows - some very cute budgies...some inspired kid's artwork - I had to show you my favourite (Evil Robot)- and there was cakes, many cakes, but unfortunately for me they were trapped behind glass. Show cakes...not for eating. Aboo.
We walked up to the Byron Lighthouse, which is the most Easterly point of Australia's mainland, and watched the sun rise...

Tea Tree Lake

We went to Lennox Head to the tea tree lake - it's a lake full of tea tree oil! It shone dark blue, but the dages were black, red, brown and yellow...and we swam in it and looked like red mermaids...
